Hello,

We successfully installed Call manager 4.1(2) following the instructions on a Genric PC. Now we are able to see call manager web pages .

The main reason could be that “Apache tomcat” was not started at that time.(for page not displying)...

We configured “devices” , “users” , and “IP extensions”, using MAC addresses of 7940 & 7960 we even configured DHCP server to bring up IP phones. We are not able to communicate between both these both these phones. Any how we can see the “main menu” on IP phone screen , even dial tone is coming from the speaker of the phones. We can even see network configuration of IP phones …etc.

Please tell us tips for configuring these 2 IP devices ….

We are unable to see the following URLs.

when we try the above URLs in a browser it is asking for user name , password , & Domain name. We haven’t configured ADS or a Domain controller on our Advanced server, is it mandatory. At present our server is in workgroup only.

I strongly believe tftp server is required for these deives to communicate. Am I correct.

Please suggest us how to configure TFTP server. As it is very much needed to establish communication between both these phones (7940 & 7960)

What are the NT services required to start TFTP server.

Please guide me how to do the basic setting in call manager for the voice communication, at this stage.

One more important query: There are nearly 13 plug-ins in “c:\ciscoplugins” directory (both server & client) which are the basic plugins to be installed?

Thanks & regards,

- Srinivas

Thanks a lot for your reply,

We saw “Cisco tftp” service has already started & it is automatic. We did not install Cisco TFTP software separately at the installation it have been installed automatically. All the IP phones & call manager are in same subnet (192.168.0.0 network). Our call manager 4.1(2) is having a static IP (192.168.0.222), we try to use 127.0.0.1 or localhost only on our local PC internet browser, however when we browse “Call Manager Administration” from other PC , we are using " only.

In CCM configuration also we have not used 127.0.0.1 anywhere; we put 192.168.0.222 only where ever it is required. At present we are using “local host” or “127.0.0.1” only for browsing CCM administrator on our local 2000 server.

Note: We are getting the following status error messages in our 7940 / 7960 phones…

Errors on 7960

1) E102 – MISC Error: No Time Server.
2) W210 TFTP Error: Timeout …SIPDefault.cnf
3) W200 TFTP Error: Timeout …0S79XX.txt
4) W220 TFTP Error: Timeout…/Cisco/SIP003094C3DDC1.cnf
5) W250 TFTP Error: Timeout…/CiscoDialplan.xml

Errors on 7940

6) W250 TFTP Error: Timeout…/CiscoDialplan.xml
7) W260 TFTP Warn: Unable to determine server.
8) W200 TFTP Error: Timeout …0S79XX.txt
9) W210 TFTP Error: Timeout…SIPDefault.cnf
10) W220 TFTP Error: Timeout…/Cisco/SIP0006537B9279.cnf

How / from where do we download SIPDefault.cnf file to tftp server?
also the files...SIP0006537B9279.cnf,0S79XX.txt,SIPDefault.cnf to tftp server. how do we see the tftp server console?
We still struck up with registering IP phones in our Cisco call manager 4.1(2).

Sounds like your 7940 and 7960 have been previously converted to SIP phones and are requesting SIP firmware files from the TFTP server. CallManager doesn't normally have those files in the TFTP directory, and that is why you are having issues. You will have to convert them back to SCCP (Skinny) phones before they can successfully register with CallManager. Currently CallManager does not support SIP as a protocol for IP Phones (only trunks). This url outlines the process to convert them back to SCCP --->

You are absolutely correct,we got these phones 7940 & 7960 from some third party (used ones), how ever your suggestion is really valuable,We realised our mistake...we had really tough time for 3 days, working day & night to make these phones register in Call manager.

At this point is it possible to convert these SIP phones to SCCP (Skinny) phones?

-Srinivas.

Yes, you can convert them back to SCCP phones, you just need to follow the process at the url I provided above. Basically you're going to place a 0S79XX.txt file in your TFTP folder, and in that file you will specify the sccp image you want to use (without the .bin or .sbn extension). The phone will request the new firmware and convert itself back to SCCP. Just make sure the phone has a valid IP address, you have specified the TFTP IP address to be your CallManager ip address, the firmware file you plan on using actually exists in the TFTP folder and you have referenced it in your 0S79XX.txt file, and lastly that the TFTP service is running on your CallManager.
Good Luck....

Thanks a lot for helping me ...actually I lost my Handle name`s "pccare2005" password in tek-tips site :)

I recreated another handle name kam72...

We succeded in the above call manager 4.1(2) project by buying another 2 SCCP phones, and our phones got registered..now..

Thanks a lot...

I may ask you some few queries in the coming future.
