How to register an Analysis server

Hi....

on machine A i right click to register a server
i type the server name but i get a message saying the server with name i entered is incorrect, but it is correct

any ideas?

OK, for some reaosn i still cannot register a certain OLAP server. it is setup the same as other OLAP servers but i keep on getting the error message:

"Unable to connect to server XYZ, The server name was not found, Please verify the name you entered is correct"

How can this be true, I even created a cube on this OLAP server?

Apparently this is really a difficult question to answer. i even called Microsoft for their help. I was on the phone with them and after an hour they told me that they dont know and they are not sure why i cannot register the Analysis Server, but they did say they're willing to open a case for me if i'm willing to pay...

so if anyone has encountered this problem and maybe has a solution i'm all ears......
