How to refresh sub reports?

I kept one subreport in the report footer of the main report
but it is not getting refreshed while the main report is getting refreshed.Is there any way to pass record selection formula for the sub reports or refreshing the subreport from VB.

Silly question time.
Is your sub report linked to a field in your main report? Mike

Have you attempted to move the subreport to another section of the report; a group header1, or a details2 section, perhaps? Do not place it in either the report header or the page header! Can you avoid use of a subreport? There might be another method.
