Can anyone tell me how to get Windows2000 to refresh it's hard disk information.
I have an application that will disable a particular hard drive.. the only problem is that Explorer still has the drive listed as a visible drive.. ie the icon for this drive is still displayed. It is also displayed under MyComputer.
However if i first run the program that is responsible for partitioning drives etc in Win2000 (don't know the program name), the disabled drive is listed as unavailable for use which is what i want & then if i run Explorer the appropriate drive icon has disappeared. Basically the partitioning program has refreshed the drive information.
As far as i can tell, the only other way for Windows2000 to pick up the new changes is to reboot the system which i would rather not do.
