Hello,

I have a 500GB RAID 0 hard drive that came with my Dell XPS 410 and I'd like to reformat it when I am able to purchase Windows Vista. Just wondering what are the steps of reformatting a RAID 0 hard drive as I never have reformatted this type of drive before.

Thanks,

Gracie

Assuming you have a hardware raid controller, it will be exactly the same as formatting a normal drive. The the system will simply see the array as a single drive.

Carlsberg don't run I.T departments, but if they did they'd probably be more fun.

Like installing XP, Vista will (probably) ask do you want to intall over the top of the existing operating system or delete the partition and reformat. If you choose that option, it will allow you to create however many partitions you want, than as Grenage states, it will just format it as one big drive.
Bear in mind, if your computer still has a warranty on it, installing Vista will negate it.

XP would need additional drivers supplied on floppy during the install process. Vista may already have the drivers included - and otherwise i think it accepts them on CD or USB stick during the install process (this is assuming you boot from the install CD or DVD for Vista, rather than starting upgrade from within XP).
