I need to reformat an address file from a dbf to a fixed length file (to send to our catalog mailing company) with NO Carriage Return or Line Feed characters.

I know I can use COPY TO ... TYPE SDF, but this includes CR/LF.

I'm probably missing something simple.

Thanks

David

BTW, I really like this site. I read the questions and answers about every day. I'm learning a bunch! :)

USE address

COPY TO address TYPE sdf
aaa=FILETOSTR("address.txt")
aaa=STRTRAN(aaa,CHR(13)+CHR(10),"")
=STRTOFILE(aaa,"address1.txt") && no CR/LF in this file

Thanks for the quick response. That worked!

David
