hi all, I created a share on the server (under c drive called it users) and then from the group policy under admin tools group policy, user configuration, windows settings selected redirect my documents folder. I typed in the path c:\users and saved it (was I supposed to do c:\users\%username%?

anyway I see the policy there now but what I expected was to see within the users folder, folders created with each users name. I rebooted both the server and the xp client and saved a document to the local my documents folder on the xp but it just saves there plus under properties I see the local folder not one mapped to the server. what am I doing wrong? do I have to actually map the mydocs folder myself from the local machine? I thought the policy would do that...do I have to create users folders first? again I thought the policy would do that...obviouly I am missing a step here...thanks in advance...

thanks I have followed the steps exactly and it does not seem to work. :(

And yet you don't tell us if there are any errors (visible or in the event logs). If you're using GPOs, does the policy get applied (is it listed in gpresult)?
