Hard drive was removed from failed motherboard system and installed on a different system as a secondary drive and files are readable. (both drives are formated NTFS)
Is it possible to recover (non backed up) OE messages from the secondary drive? If so does anyone have a step by step reference?
Would also be interested in recovering bookmarks and address book if possible.

Search the drive for *.dbx These files are your old mail store. Use your new OE's Import function to import the messages.

The same applies for your old adress book - *.wab

IE favorites are stored in a folder named Favorites under your user profile. These can be copied in to your existing favorites folder directly.

For any/all of the above steps, you might need to take ownership of the old folders or the entire old drive.

It was very difficult finding the location of those ".dbx" files. Even with "Show Hidden Files and Folders" checked, and Hide protected operating system files." unchecked, Search would not find those ".dbx" files. Found those files burried in C:/Documents and Settings/Personal Name/Local Settings/Identies/Long #/Microsoft/Outlook Express.
I imported and browsed to that last folder "Outlook Express" and everything transferred over.
Same thing with the ".wab" address book. Just a matter of finding the file and importing.
Thanks a lot.
