Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows a good quick way to recover a deleted public folder that user inadvertantly deleted without going back to tape and recovering the entire public folder ?

Thanks

Kevin.

Do you have a brick by brick backup?
Can you restore to a recovery store then use exmerge?

Hi,

I solved my own problem with an article I found on the net.

the solution was to use Outlook Web access by using the link of:

Where servername is the name of your server, toplevel is the name of the top level folder in the public folders (If you are recovering the top level strip everything forward of public until the ?cmd=showdeleted&btnClose=1). Also if you have folders that have spaces in the names use the spaces IE will automatically fill them in.

Thanks for the reply. I'd still be interested in know the "long way" to restore items as well or any of your experience in doing this in case this is ever necessary.

We do run Backup Exec 9.0 with Exchange option.

If you have veritas then you could use it to just restore the public folder in question. Have a look, it's quite simple.

Hit restore, drill down to the Microsoft Exchange Public Folders, select the folder you want and restore it.

Also google recovery storage groups for future interest.
