This is probably a verry easy question, I've looked for the answer myself but I didn't find it.

We've got this doorbel connected to our meridian. It has one button, If you press it, it will automatically dial a number.
Now I want to change that number. How do I do that?
I've looked arround in the MAT-tool but I can't find anything...

you will need to find the number, trace the cable

it may be set up as HOT D

Colin

cmawbey> I've done that allready. I know what number is assigned to the doorbel and I know what number is called by the doorbel when you press the button.
But what I want is to change to number that is called! I've no idea how to do that..

This doorbel connect to number 700, I can't find it in this
list...

seems like some of the TN print is missing,, can you check

Colin

Parameter is at the end of the TN print in FTR HOT xx
xxx xxxx.

your door bell is probably programmable and the number is programmed in the unit. There is no setup on this TN that will dial a number. Check with the manufacture of the doorbell.

Reusser> I think your right... It looks like I have to program the number in the doorbel unit.

Reusser> Oops... I got to my conclusion a Little to fast. I've contacted the manufacturer of the doorbel. The one we have, is the only one they have that can't be programmed. So the programming should be in de meridian.

re check the TN print...it will be FTR HOT 700

so do a change

Colin> I tried to do the procedure you described. What should I do when I've gone to FTR? I've tried to enter HOT, or a different phonenumber or a combination of both. But I can't change anything. It will return with an error.
I haven't seen any FTR HOT 700 messages in the TN list... So I'm kinda confused now, I realy have no idea what to try next.

Hmnmmm... this is a bit strange.

have you put a test phone on the TN to see what happens
do you have an Auto Dialler set up somewhere ??

the correct way to do HOT D is

FTR HOT (sp) D (sp) 3 (number of digits) xxx (new number)

so FTR HOT D 3 800 (4 if there are 4 digits)
is 700 a Phantom or an ACD set ?

I don't know why I haven't tried this before:
I connected the doorbel to another analog line on the meridian and it still calls the same number. This must
mean that the programming is in the doorbel itself instead
of in the meridian.

Gonna contact the manufacturer again (the one who said the doorbel was not programmable)

I've contacted the manufacturer. They say, it a non-programmable doorbel. So the configuration should be in the meridian.

Aaaargh! I'm getting crazy.
When I connected the doorbel to a faxline.. it still called the 700 number. So it must be programmed in the doorbel... right? or am I missing something?

I've tried the HOT D functions but when a press space or enter after "FTR HOT" I get an error "SCH3060"

well this is strange...

so how about setting call forward all call at xtn 700 to go to the new extn...
or make 700 a phantom then NCFW it to th new number
what type of set is 700

Colin

Mkay, Finnaly the problem is solved.

The doorbel was programmable. The problem was, the serialnr said it wasn't. Apperantly the people who installed the system, have added a dialing interface in a non-programmable doorbel.

So the manufacturer thought it wasn't a programmable unit.. but in fact it was.

Anywayz, thanks for all the help!
