How to rebuild bosinst.data ?

Hi folks,

a friend of mine's got an old RS6000 running AIX 3.2
Yesterday he tried an mksysb, but there is no bosinst.data anywhere on the system.
Not in / and not anywhere else...

Is there any way to recreate that file ?
If so, how exactly can this be done ?
