I created a Crystal report using an Excel data source. I had to re-export data to Excel because I needed another field. I cannot connect my Crystal report to the new Excel file, or even the original Excel file.

I have tried using the Set Location. I also tried to re-create a new Excel data source connection, but this pretty much removes everything from my Crystal report.

These are the types of errors I get.

Details: DOA Error Code: 0xcca
External table is not in the expected format.

Details: DOA Error Code: 0Xbd3
Cannot update. Database or object is read-only.

Using Crystal Reports 2016 / Excel 2016.

Do you have an ODBC for the Excel file? You cannot use the Access/Excel (DAO) connector (Only supports older Excel files). As far as the read-only. I get this if I have the Excel file open when I am in Crystal Reports (Excel creates a lock file).
