Hi everyone...

I am having some difficulty finding an answer for this, and
I hope someone can help me...

Is there a way, thru VB code, to "boot" a specific user
from an Access (97) database? I work for a business which
has 3 separate divisions (sales, admin, etc) and each
division has it's own alarm system (security purposes).
However, I work in one division, and people from all 3
divisions use one database in particular...however, if I
need to make changes to it, there is always SOMEONE who has
left it open...any ideas?

Thanks for the link...I had checked that one out yesterday...my problem is...how do I disconnect them?

Follow the instructions if your database has a security file (mdw) you has a table mentioned in the tread.
If the klient file runs a form permanently and invisibly what checks methodicaly the field's value and you change that value, the form's routine can quit the application, if the condition ...
(i'm sorry for my English, if it's not clear at all :))
If you don't use mdw (Workgroup Information File) and the builded security system, you can create in your database a table to manage clients. The hided form checks your a record of your table (it can be attached constantly to clients, or a VBA query code).
Fe.
if the value = 1 then the database accessible
if 2 the running clients still can access to, but new instance cannot start
if 3, the database is not accessible, the running client quits

Thank you very much - that was the clarification that I needed to program what I need.
