How to quickly add a registry entry from a .reg text file

Every once in a while I need to quickly add a registry entry or two. Since I don't do it very often it is easier to use a .reg text file. Just edit the file, save it and then double click the file name in the the file browser and answer the prompts.

I wrote it up in FAQ faq707-4366 in case it would be of benefit to others as well.
