how to pull windows useer name of user accessing an intranet web site

I need to pull up the windows user name of the user accessing my web page over intranet.
please suggest how can it be done without letting the users know.

Hi,
Not sure you can...You can get their IP address,and maybe the MAC # and look them up in your DNS or DHCP Leases or somewhere..

also, set authentication mode to Windows and Identity impersonate to true in the web.config.
