Hi,
I just bought used phaser 840. When I turned printer on, display indicated that drawer A should be removed and tray B emptied. Unfortunately drawer A was stuck. I tried Xerox instructions to turn printer off and close all doors several times in attempt to unlock safety lock on drawer A, but it didn't work. Could someone give me instructions how to pull out locked drawer A. I do not know much about phaser 840, but I am willing to take challenge to repair this by myself (if possible).
Please help with instructions.

Thank you
Sasha

The easiest way to unlock the tray is to remove the right side cover, near teh top is a electric clutch which is attached to the gear and belts for the cap wipe purge assy. If you rotate the the assy so the it moves down to the very bottom of its travel it should unlock the tray. If it does not unlock it then there maybe a problem with the tray guide not being installed correctly which will also keep it from being removed.

Marty,

thank you for your help. It worked!!!
I was very excited to see printer warming up and working until I get my test page printed.
Test page showed only lines 1, 11, 44, 80 and 94. Is there any way to fix this so it prints properly???

Thank you
Sasha

In addition, I also noted that no ink was wasted into tray B and no ink was used during warm up. Ink stick ends are barely warm.

Also, I opened top of printer and there is no ink in reservoirs on top of head. Any sugestions???
