I want to know how to protect specific cells in the excel worksheet, to protect whole worksheet doesn't work in my case(I need to write on some area, but some other area is read only), is there a way to protect some areas instead of whole worksheet?

Hi!

If you go to the Protection tab on the Format Cells sheet you will find a check called Locked. Uncheck it and that will allow the values in that cell to be change on a protected worksheet.

To protect a particular cell
Sheet(1).Range("A1").Locked = True

to unprotect
Sheet(1).Range("A1").Locked = false
