How to properly disable Public Folders access in OWA

What is the proper way to disable Public Folders access in OWA?

Will disabling READ (and other rights) in IIS for the Public virtual directory be sufficient? Will this affect any other functionality?

Disabling Read will do it, but another, potentially cleaner way, is to play with the AD to block it. Read this article:
