Hey Everyone,

I noticed that a new client of mine has a certain button on her attendant phone...It is a M7324 with a CAP runnig off of a Norstar 8x24 DR 5.1 running 12 loop start trunks and a Startalk Flash 4-port. The receptionist leaves the handset off of the hook all of the time, and she has an "ANSWER" button that she hits to answer the first ringing incomming line. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE PROGRAMMING FEATURE CODE FOR THIS KIND OF BUTTON ???????

She also has a "NIGHT" button, that changes the VM box over to the night greeting with the one touch of the button...how do you do that one too????

Thanks for any help,
Trevor Farren,

Have you tried Feature *0 to see what the button is programmed as? You just enter Feature*0 at the phone and press the 'answer' button. The display should then show what that button is programmed as. Hit RLS to get out of that mode.

I can't find my 8x24 book, but on the 0x32 the code for an Answer button is Feature800.

Trev, the "answer key" being used in this application may be Call Queuing, F801. With this feature: When you have one or more call ringing at your telephone, you can choose the call that has the highest priority. Call Queuing answers incoming calls before callback and camped calls, works with handset left off the hook.

Another possibility, the handset can be left off the hook all the time and calls can be answered by using the Handsfree/Mute key---both ways work.

Night answer: in Service Modes programming, assign the control as the set you want to put the NIGHT key on. Turn on a service mode (Night) to manual, put the VMDN as the Ringing Telephone for the lines you want answered, assign a NIGHT key to the control set using F*3 F870.
