Can someone tell me how to program the soft buttons on a M2317. I need to program a RNP button on the phone and the system tells me that I can't program a soft button feature on buttons 1 - 10. So I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

Possibly... I was digging through my install manual and found information regarding the telephone and the "default" features programmed on them when you first install. If they use the term "default" I would assume they can be changed. Just don't know how.

If you add a RNPG to the phone, the RNP button appears. Just build the phone as NEW, in order, then do not enter any KEYs. All of the needed KEYs will populate, including RNP.

I can't add this feature to any button other than the soft keys. According to the book this isn't a default feature on the phone.

When adding this to a 2317, decide what pick up group you want to use.
In LD 11
chg
2317
x x x x(TN)
echg yes
RNPG 1 (using group 1 in this example)
key 19 RNP

I think there are several keys you can use, but it is 19 and above I believe

Trvl1, Key 19 accepted the programming Thanks.

Thanks for the input everyone else...

I must say, ahhhhh thanks for the M2000 manual GHTROUT....these were the best Nortel phones ever made.....well until the 11xx series....but I believe these M2000 sets still look better than most newer Grandstream, Shoretel, Allworx, Avaya sets.....

Just my opinion....
