I am trying to program a Plain Old Telephone Set. It is just a regular wall phone with a mechanical ringer. I tried EXTEI:DIR=448,EQU=1-0-32-09,TYPE=EL6,CAT=2; I got a dial tone fine but the ringer would only click very softly. Then I tried EXTEI:DIR=448,EQU=1-1-60-11,TYPE=EL8,CAT=2; because I read something in the books about EL8 for a POTS. This didn't work at all and I didn't even get a dial tone. Any ideas for getting a mechanical bell ringer to work?

Try to check the other analog phones with EXDDP:DIR=ALL;
This will give you the CAT (category field).
Also check the EXCAP:DIR=ALL;

Then send this command EXTEI:DIR=448,EQU=1-0-32-09,TYPE=EL6,CAT=?;

Since the EQU number is correct as the bell rang, you need to boost the ringing voltage.
Ringing in the MD110 is an AC voltage of 90-120 Volts, but maybe it needs amplified.

Try to connect a normal POTS phone til this EQU, and see if it rings normally.
