Hi,

I am trying to print report in design mode. It is not allowing me to print in design mode?
I try to comparing few report layouts.
All reports are looking same but very little difference is there. I am comparing reports manually for that I am trying to print report in design mode.

Thanks
Mure

You should always let everyone know what version of CR you are using. If you are using XI, you can try this. Click on File, then go to Export, and to Export Report. In the first drop down, which is labeled "Format", choose "Report Definition (TXT)". In the second drop down, which is labeled "Destination", choose whichever makes sense to you, i like application becuase it opens automatically for me and i don't have to go find it. Anyway, this produces a TXT file of your report, as it is designed. This is the closest i ahve ever seen to printing the Design screens. I also think this is only available in XI, but i'm not 100% sure.

This functionality is available in earlier versions of Crystal as well (going back to at least 5, which is when I started using it.)

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Hmmm, I thought nmmure was looking for how to do a screen print--for a visual of the layout.

I am sorry for not providing Crystal version. I am using Crystal 10 & SQL Server 2000.

Yes lbass I am looking for screen print ( visual layout ).

Why not just print the report? What is a screen print/visual layout going to do for you?

In any case just fo a screen print if this is what you want.

Do you want to see aspects of the design that the printed report does not show? If you've got the standard Windows set-up and Word, you could use the [Print Scrn] key to get an image of the design and paste it into Word. You can also paste to Excel and probably other software.

We are using 30 reports all are same with little changes. For comparison and maintain the records I was taken printouts. I did this one using print screen & paint. That would be fine for me.
I think that crystal may be provided some options for this Instead of doing above. That's why I posted my question here.
This is the one forum which we get very good solutions.
Thanks guys I appreciated your help.
