We have a around 4k+ .xml files that need to be printed. They only render correctly in a browser, or excel if you pick the apply style sheet option. These are simple, one or two page files, but we need them all to print.

Highlighting them all and right clicking, print is not an option.

Ideas?

THey will also open with Ultra Edit 32 but all of them would need to be opened with it first. It has print all files option. You can also open multiple files at a time. So I think you could use this.

Thank you for you for your quick response!

I downloaded the demo, and I am not sure it is going to work. It opens the files, but does not apply the .xsl stylesheet.

We need the files printed with the stylesheet applied. I was thinking of a script of some sort. One that would "for each" open file (in browser(default program)) and print to default printer.

My scripting skills need polishing, but that is the direction I am heading.

Can anyone help?

Sorry But I didn't get this from your first post. "We need the files printed with the stylesheet applied. I was thinking of a script of some sort. One that would "for each" open file (in browser(default program)) and print to default printer." Ultra Edit does print the same layout as when you open the page with IE. So maybe I'm confused. As for a script. You can post the question here. there are some great guys that know scripting really good.

Think about environment. Do you actually need to print that amount of data?

Anyway, a simple html page would do the work with a bit of Javascript.

Cheers,
Dian

@ Sleepsalot - By default, it did not open with stylesheet applied, will look through options

@ Diancecht - Believe me, wish I did not have to print all these, but, not sure if you know government, but they "have" to have it. If we can figure out how to merge all these into one html file, that would be fine too!

I will keep looking, keep ideas coming! Thank you!

Thank you for all your help. I never found an answer for this, but the problem is alleviated. While I was working on an "elegant" solution, they had an intern grind away at them and print them out. One by One.

Thank you for all your help.

Hey Ztrek7,
No problem about Ultra Edit. Glad it got sorted out for you. Yes interns can be great to abuse sometimes. LoL
