hi, all:
When an event occured(such as a link up trap) occured, will the HP Network Node Manager log into a log file in text format. (assuming that i have select the log option in the event message) If it does, where can i find this file?
If not, can i use the automatic action to manually log down the all the messages into a text file. How should i format the automatic action command so that the messages can be print to a file?
Thanks for your help...

Hi,
man ovdumpevent

Also, there is the HP forum which is another alternative for asking questions about NNM.
then select Networking and Openview
You might also want to use this to get answers.

Use the Print method and select a file. I can't remember the menu name, but it is in the browser window (maybe is in the action menu..sorry but I can't take a look at this moment).

It is a good tip use this printed messages when a new message arrives and you need to create new templates/conditions and it can be use as "test pattern matching file".

Hope this helps !!!
