How to prevent excel converting imported data to dates

Hello
I have a csv file that has one column with an account number in it.

This is for example MARC03.

When this is imported excel converts this to Mar-03. Is there any way to stop this. The file is required to be a csv file and it needs to iimport straight into excel as the user will not be very technical

hi,

IMPORT rather than OPEN this file!

Use the Data > Get external data > Text files... feature to IMPORT and CONTROL each column's import format individually in the import wizard.

Once you have done this (ONE TIME) the import spec is saved with the workbook and all you need do is REFRESH the querytable.
