Hi.
client - server - access - security
Access 2000
The client computers in a local network have have access 2000 installed on their computers.
I want to install an .MDE file on each client from where they can access data from an .mdb file on a server.
The .MDE file are linked to the tables in the backend-db.
What is the best way to prevent the clients to connect / link to the backend-db from other apps than the distributed .MDE file?
I do not want them to be able to, let say, create an empty DB in access 2000 and then link to the backend.
I do not want them to be able to link / connect from excel, word etc.
Not from any other app...
Is that possible and how do I make sure it will work.
Anyone with and answer to this?
Any link to tutorials would be nice.
Regards
