How do I include an example of my "work" so as to get help? I have seen examples of graphics posted from people requesting help but I need detailed instructions on how to do it. I don't understand how to use the

I guess I am not very sure if I understood your question.
What is your work?
Do you want to have a web page for the graphics/images you have created?
How is it related to Adobe Illustrator?

I am designing a CD insert for myself. I use Illustrator for this. For the title of the CD album I use Vianta font or Monotype Corsiva. I want to have a 6 point stroke around 48 point text but I dont want the stroke to "eat" into the "body" of the letters. I did this successfully once before but I don't remember how I did it. I wanted to display the work I did so that someone could tell me how it was done. I do not have a website or a webpage. I hope that I can get instructions on how to post the work. I think this is sometimes very desireable since a picture is worth a thousand words. I have seen others post graphics before in this forum. I remember one user asking how to do stuff which took him a multitude of steps but the expert showed a graphic which took only a few steps. It was an illustration of complicated piping with many layers. How did they post that grahic? Thanks for your reply

First up if you don't have a web server then you cant post an image here. There are tons of free web servers on the net though, you could be hooked up in five minutes with one. If you get that up and running then I or someone else will help you with the IMG tag then.

To stroke text on the outside: Select the text with the selection tool (V). Open your appearances palette. Open the drop down menu in that palette and select Add new fill and do that twice. Select the bottom Fill attribute that has now appeared in that list. Change its colour to something different than the top fill colour (otherwise you will not be able to see the stroke!). Now with the bottom fill attribute still selected go to Effect>Path>Offset Path. Enter a value for your stroke width in that dialogue box that opens (ie 1mm) and there you have it!
