Hello ... I've just started working with InDesign 2.0, for Windows.

I have a Word Document (150 pages) that I want to place, so I can typeset it -- it's a novel.

What I've done that hasn't worked:
1) Created a new file with 150 pages and the same margins as my Word document; then
2) Tried to place the Word doc with File -->, Place ...

A small "note" appears near my cursor. When I click onto page one of my InDesign file, only the first page of the Word Document appears in the InDesign document.

Help, anyone? Thanks very much ...

First its probably best to open the ID doc and go back to Document Setup & check Master Text Frame - giving you a page sized text frame on all pages.

Go to Page 1 of the ID doc and select Place. You'll get a loaded cursor - sort of an arrow with what looks like some text. Place the cursor in the upper left and Shift click. The text will then flow to subsequent pages.

When you get the Word import box, if you don't check Remove Formatting, ID will import all the formatting from the word doc. If you do check Remove formatting, ID will apply the formatting that you've set for the document.
