Hello,

I am tring to figure out a way on how to prevent users accidently moving/deleting working directories. IE: user has access to folder A which inturn hold 100's of subfolders the user needs to do work. User moves a subfolder or accidently deletes it...how can I prevent that?

Are there any methods out there being used to address these types of situations?

Thanks for you time.

Hi Matrix101,

The answer to this depends on what level of access your users require to the sub-folders.

If users only need to read files and folders, then apply a more granular level folder security. "Read and Execute" would suffice in this situation.

If however, you need to allow users to delete files and folders, you will need to apply something other than standard permissons, ie - you will need to use "Advanced" and set a lower-level, more specific set of permissions.

HTH
