How to permit file transfer between users in Citrix?

Hello,

I would like users to transfer files between each other via a mapped drive, under Citrix:
these users would like to copy files from their local drive to a mapped drive on their Citrix session, in order to let other users to recover these files on their own local drive. This doesn't seem possible under the published applications (Ms Office / SAP).

I have no problem to connect users to a mapped drive when they log on (with script net use), but I don't want to publish Explorer, for security reason.

So what can I do to permit this files transfer (local-mapped drive on server - local)?

Thank you.

If you connect users to a network share once they logon to the Citrix server, you should be able to see the drive through the application.

Thank you but in fact I want users to be able to make copy/cut/paste from their own local files to other users drives, but not inside the actual published applications (as I don't think it is possible to copy/cut ... various files into an Excel for example).

I didn't find anything else than publishing explorer but for security reasons I am not plenty satisfied. I will have to create an OU (I wanted to avoid that) and to apply policies on it, to disable map network drives for example.

Hi,

It's not possible to copy/paste from one clients machine to another as it's not a "networked" device per-say!

The only other way would be to create shares on each PC with corresponding rights.

The ICA software creates virtual channels between workstation and server, allowing file and print to access local devices. I don' believe that a third party can use these virtual channels.

It may be worth subscribing to Citrix CDN (their developer network) and asking there as those programmers may be able to give further information!

Cheers,
Carl.

Thanks all, so I will keep Explorer wating for another solution.

Don't forget, if you want to publish Expolorer, copy Explorer.Exe to PExplorer.Exe or you'll just give your users another desktop!

Cheers,
Carl.

Thanks Ogi that's right I read this and made this.
