I'm not a programmer, but am designing reports against an SQL2K database. I am just viewing and refreshing the reports using CR ver 8, not on the Web. Each time I refresh, it prompts for the DB password. Connecting via ODBC. I want to suppress the prompt. Any help is much appreciated.

It shouldn't prompt every time you run the report, just every time it needs to connect to the database.

So once you execute the report and you hit the lightning bolt, it won't ask you again until you['ve logged off of the database (by exiting CR or by stating Database->Log on/off server).

I guess what you're asking for is to overide the security of the database, is that correct?

That would expose a major security flaw to imbed user/pw in a report, hence it's not an option.
