How to pass variables to a Crystal Report

Hi,
I am using Crystal Report 6. Is there a way of passing variables declared in my form to a report. I use the variables to determine, e.g. report headings, plus other information I may want to display on the report, depending on what options a user selects on the form that calls the report.
I am new to Crystal Reports and I am converting my existing VFP7 reports (that use a lot of variables) to Crystal.
