Hello! Our company creates and sells windows. We would like to create our own program for rooms and windows modeling on Java for Windows OS. Plus, we have a specific niche - we make windows for old buildings and churches, so we do not fit into some available analogues. That's why we need our own program. Do you have a spec for your windows and doors? It is best to plan what you would like the software to do. For example

CAD system for designing doors/windows
Bill of materials required to build design
Ordering materials
Cost of item (don't forget to add labour costs)
Send invoice to another program (the one that does accounting)

If you are dealing with another company, remember to ask for escrow of the software. Make sure you can build it - if that company goes bust, at least you are not stuck, you can pass the software to another company to maintain/enhance it. Also, things like who owns the intellectual property rights to the software.

Hi! It's better for you to prepare the specification for the windows, no way to avoid that.
Outsourcing will work fine in your case, just try to make surу that the company is trustworthy, have a look at their portfolio, talk with the deveolpers, talk to their clients.
