How to open password protected folder on server at client pc

hello sir,

i have one folder at windows 2003 server, which is having some word, excel files. i have shared this folder with password protection.

now i have developed one software thru which i want to open these files at client machine in LAN.

i want to give permissions to users to create new document, edit, delete etc. thru my software.

how can i...?
is there any other solution for this.
it is going to be used for Document Control in ISO Company.
please help.
