How to open email attachments with Word Xp instead of Word 2000

I have Word XP and Word 2000, when I open up attachments Word 2000 defaults, how can I change this so Word XP opens.

You don't say which version of Outlook you are using? But the normal action is that the last used version of Word will be registered in Windows so will be the version that opens.

Why do you have both versions of Word installed? Do you have both versions of Outlook/Office installed too?
