Hello,

I know it's possible to open other programs using the Shell function, but I was wondering if there is a way to open a .pdf file in Adobe Acrobat and pass in a value to have it search and display in a particular area. The reason I need this is because we are an aircraft overhaul facility and our parts manuals are supplied to us on CD-Roms in .pdf format. We constantly get updated versions but the titles of the chapters don't change on the disks. Also, when I receive the disks I copy the data into a folder on a shared network drive. What I would like to do is have my program open the required chapter from the network drive and possibly pass in the name or part numnber required and have Acrobat do a search and display the correct page.

I think this is a great site for information and I really appreciate everyones help in previous posts.

Sincerely,

jcfrasco

You should check out the ActiveX components Adobe has.
They should be listed in Delphi under Components->Import ActiveX components.

Hi.

There are a lot of free components to create pdf files with delphi. You should try it out..

Another interresting issue is to have xml data and use xslt transformation to create ex. pdf, word, html, etc. reports or manuals with Delphi.
