How to open a word document in an explorer frame?

Well, actually this is not the real problem, I can open the word document in the target frame, but then I have no access to the word controlbars.

Example: I have a menu bar on the left side of the page with some links to doc files. If you click on one of them, the document should appear in the main (center) frame and the word control bar at the top of the screen.

Hope someone can help me because I actually NO web programmer but somehow I need to get this job done

Well, if you just type in the file name and path in the Windows Internet Explorer Address bar, it will open your document, as Word is an Active X OLE Server. Tyrone Lumley
