Hello ,
I want to create a button on an e-mail that users have to click to confirm reading ....
When the button is clicked, 3 DOC fields on another DB should be set with user related information.
I have tried to use Compose but this command opens the DOC itself for editing and is not suitble since all this process should run on background ....

Any ideas ?

Thanks

Formula language is a bit limited when it comes to accessing and modifying fields on a different form, especially in a different database.
You need to set up you button in script. That has the power to do just about anything to/with your data. Of course, if you don't know lotusscript you're going to need a developer, or a lot of time.
Instead of trying to do it in the mail, why not create a new database on the server, put a document in it with the information you want to make available, and send a link to that document ? That way, you have total control over the database, and can set it (with a bit of coding) so that whenever anyone reads the document, they automatically send a mail to you, or a log is created with their name and the time.
It will be easier to do this in a seperate db instead of hijacking the mail process. Besides, the button will not necessarily be clicked on by the reader, whereas the db does not need to wait for user action to record the fact that the document was opened.

Pascal.
