how to obtain ip and computer name in a LAN network ???

ipconfig /all - gives you ip info

set - gives you names and a lot of other info

Type hostname press return in a command window.

for finding the IP and hostname of windows boxes on your LAN
write a script that look at the arp table on your router that gives you IP adress then foreach adress :
nbtstat -a <@IP>
gives you hostname, domain, user ( if connected )
