how to number a half-folded page to 2 pages.

hi,
i want to number a page, ( 500mmX250mm) (the final print out should be 500mm folded half,to form a 250mm X250mm pages and this one page will eventually be 2 pages. (sorry, i dont know the terminology, as i am not really a book designer.)

I tried to number it at master page, but it can only treat the 500mm X250mm as one page...

i just wonder if there is an easier way to do the numbering than to number all the pages manually page by page??

The terminology is 'imposition'. Search

for a free script with limited functionality or purchase a plugin like InBooklet from alap.com for more control.

A page should be a page in InDesign. You don't need to design a spread on a single page.
