How to not user domain\username

Does anyone know if it's possible to login to sp with just a username and not having to input the domain\username?

Users put in the domain\username and works fine. This is a single tree ad site.

Any ideas?

Anyone have any ideas of how to allow users to log in without using their domain/username and just their usernames?

Hi,

Is it so that your users are getting prompted for username and password when they try to access the SP site? If that is the case, have you added your sharepoint site to the Trusted or Local Intranet Zone in Internet explorer? If users are using the same logon ID for SP as on their local PC's adding the site to either of the zones will get rid of that login prompt.

Let me know if I have totally missunderstood your question
