I have a report based on a query. In the query, one of the fields is a lookup. The field contains the lookup Income ... or Expense.

But in the report when I use that field, it shows the value, 1 or 2. How do I get it to show the words "Income" or "Expense"???

If you created the "lookup" in the table, you have to provide some way to chnage them back yourself...If you created the lookup field using another table, open the query in design view, include the table, add the field with the real value and change the report to see this field.

More imporatnantly, you have stumpled across the reason you will find MANY threads in these forums as to why NOT to use lookups based at the table level. You lose control over the data and only make things harder for yourself than you intended. ANY lookup field should be based on a referentially-enforced linked table that can be called and manipulated.

Include the table where the actual field is saved and select the field containing the expence/income. Display this in the report.
