I hate the large icons in folder listing of files.
Is there a way to nail down view/list. Everytime
* my system freezes up
* I change the name or location of a folder,
* or I make a change (like yesterday when I selected WordPad for opening RTF files) everything goes back to large icons.

I looked at the FAQs and did a word search, but no luck.
Help.

Have you tried the 'Make all folders look the same' (like current folder - when that's set as you want) button in folder options, view?

After choosing what you want (details, right?), hold down Alt-Ctrl-Shift, and while holding it close the window.
Works for me.
