We are goingt to move Domino r4.6 server to a new Win2000 and Dimino R5. The old server we need to keep it working for the database server. We just move their mail server and Web server. Anyone knows how to do it????

Thanks for the help!

Copy the notes directory to the new server, on the same disk (e.g. d:\notes)
(don't forget to copy notes.ini)
Reinstall the SAME version of Notes on top of the d:\notes
Start Notes server and it will work

Now you can upgrade to R5 Peter Van Eeckhoutte

The old server we need to keep it working still for the database server. We just need to move mail server and Web server. When we install the new server we will use the same mail name, Is that will conflict with old server? The web server, we just need to inform some Web name service to change the IP address, but what about the mail server?

HMmm you should move the complete server to the new machine (keep the existing name)
Then create a new server and use it to host your databases on (on the old server)

Good luck Peter Van Eeckhoutte
