How to Move Primary DC & AC from 1 server to another?

Hello all! I have a Technical question. Here it is:

I have a Primary Domain Controller and AC and Im installing a new Server.

I want to name the new server the same name as the current server and transfer everything from the old to the new.

Is this posible to do? Can I have 2 servers with same name to do this?

If there is a procedure to do this, I dont know cause I've never done this before.

Any Ideas?

Hey ajrey,

I'm going to guess that you're asking about renaming your Main Domain controller running AD (Active Directory) instead of AC....

If that's the case you can't do it under 2000 but you can if you upgrade to Windows 2003.
