I'd like to know if I can do this. I've had AS2000 AE on a Windows 2000 server for a few years. I have now built a new Windows 2003 domain on another server with a different domain name. I am using the AS database. Can I move my old DB to the new server and continue using my current media sets, etc? If so, what is the proper procedure for doing this?

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

It is possible to port Arcserve database from one server to the other one.

Just follow the steps below.

1. Stop all ARcserve engines in the Source server.

2. Copy the Arcserve DAtabase folder.

3. Install ARcserve on the Destination machine with Default Arcserve DAtabase.

4. Stop all ARcserve engines on the Destination machine.

5. Rename the existing DAtabase folder to old. Now paste the copied Arcserve Database folder from the Source machine in the Arcserve folder of the Destination machine.

6. Start all the engines.

NOTE: Arcserve 2000 does not support Windows 2003. You need Arcserve v9.0 with Build number 2020 and above, to support Windows 2003.

Cheers
