Hey folks, getting a new PC and Laptop is there a way to back up my element manager from my old machine and download all my sites into my new one.

I don't want to spend a day keying in IP's.

launch element mangler

File-export node element list
save your file to backup or whatever you want to name it
then when element mangler is installed on your new system you do just the oposite import node element list and point it to where your backup file was saved to.

I would try this before swaping out systems though just in case it doesn't work so hang on to your old machine in case you need to manually enter everything again.

All I do is to look for the file called summary.xml and replace the file of the same name on the new computer. I also copy across all of the cartridges.

oh..one thing. don't loose your file extention of .xml name your file whatever you want to but ensure you keep this file extention as specified. You can also copy/replace but sometimes this can corupt the file in doing it that way so I just save it and restore it.

Your cartridges are not nearly as important because the first time you login it will download them again in about 2 seconds so either way works. If your using dial-up though...you may want to do as firebirdscrambler mentioned, but I'm not sure where they keep the cartridge files i would have to search this one out.

Using the latest version of Element Manager 62.0.3, try e.g.

C:\Documents and Settings\user account\.bcm\BEM\bin\access. the summary.xsl file is located here.

Try C:\Documents and Settings\user account\.bcm\BEM\bin\registry\cartridges

All of the zip cartridges are located here and haveing them moved before hand can save you an hour long download if you are on a dial up connection.
