How to move a path?

How do I move a path? I mean move just one dot. when i try, I move the hole path not just the dot. This is probably a easy quastion but i need to know.

Make sure you have the Direct Selection Tool selected (It's the white arrow in the tool bar). Move the arrow over an object's anchor point and the cursor will change to a white arrow with a white square beneath it (if the object is unselected), then you can select and move individual points on the path or anything else that you created.
