Hi,

I would like to make use of another networked server's CD drive on my current server (which does not have a CD drive). both are running Solaris OS.

May I know what are the steps and commands to do so?

thanks!

Hi,

On the system having cdrom, share the cdrom as
ServerA# share -F nfs /cdrom/cdrom0
On the other system, mount the shared cdrom on a mount point (say mnt) as
ServerB# mount ServerA:/cdrom/cdrom0 /mnt

Make sure to add hostname and IP address entries in /etc/hosts files of both servers before doing this.

I hope this helps.....
