Hi,

We are using veritas netbackup. I want to dump

I want to take remote backup of Y server's /root and another 4 filesystems in one tape (DLT). The autoloader is connected to X server.

I tried ufsdump 0ucf <XserversIPaddress>:/dev/rmt/1 /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0

it works fine for me.

and again I've mounted tape by giving
mt -f /dev/rmt/1 fsf 1

and instructed to take dump of one more filsystem
ufsdump <XserversIPaddress>:/dev/rmt/1 /dev/dsk/c0t0d9s0

it is being overwritten and when I try to restore it shows the contents of /dev/dsk/c0t0d9s0

Can any one help me how to mount a tape and what is the detailed procedure to make it successful.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
V Ramesh

Use /dev/rmt/1n instead. That way you won't have to fast forward the tape either. The "n" means that the tape will not be rewound after each operation. Then you can use mt rewind at the end.
